Cecilia is a little quirky, as I've talked about previously. She has a fairly regimented bedtime routine. She gets a fresh diaper, changes into her pajamas. From here, she'll take some vitamins, get a calcium chew and then brush her teeth. Afterwards she'll choose a book and come and read it with me. After the story, she'll go with her mother to go rock in a rocking chair for a few minutes before lying down.
The key to this routine is what happens while rocking. She gets to choose out some songs for her mother to sing to/with her. It came to my attention recently that one of her favorites upon which she insists each night is "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". Sure, there are other songs she likes to sing as well, but I just found this one song selection funny and wanted to share.
At least she doesn't request "Blame it on the Rain" or "Can't Touch This."
The best part is when she sings with me, "1,2,3 Out." Maybe she'll play softball when she's older or maybe she just enjoys a good 'ol sporting event. Anyway I look at it, out of the 3 or 4 baseball games that we went to this season, it blows me away that she remembers the song enough to request it. She's a sponge!
