When I feel like it, I know when I'm wrong (let's be honest here, I'm male, and stubborn, and I'm me… so it's when I feel like it, not all the time (this is probably worthy of its own blog entry by itself)). I say this because I owe an apology you. I've done wrong, and I've made a fool of myself. For all the bad things I've said about you, you've never mislead me, or been untrue to yourself. Diet Coke, please forgive me.
Others clearly warned me that no two kids are the same. I thought to myself, “Yeah… but it won't really make itself known until they're older…” how wrong I was. These differences aren't all that significant in perspective to what their whole lives will be, but interesting (if only to the parents) none-the-less.
I just finished the last requirement for my bachelors degree. I feel like I've been working on this for so long that it's somewhat… weird to think that I'm… done. Done. What's that supposed to mean? Despite now having earned a degree, I'm not sure I know. I do know, though, that I'm thrilled to be done, and couldn't be more pleased with one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.
We had two fairly significant things happen for both of the girls within the past couple weeks. They're both important for different reasons, but I feel like I should share.
The other day I was speaking with somebody and they pronounced "speedometer" like "SPEED-oh-mee-ter" as opposed to "sped-AWE-meh-ter". I thought to myself and commented afterwards, "If that's what that's called, wouldn't it be measuring speedos instead of… speed?" For the record, I'd like to provide you a list of things that I'd personally like to nothave to deal with on a daily basis, let alone measure (in no particular order):
- Speedos
- Zombies
- Eraser burns
- Fecal samples
- Water Chestnuts
I think things pretty much speak for themselves in that list. :)
