Farewell, Recipes

I've been asked to remove the recipes I previously had on my site, and I'm happy to comply. The recipes have not lost their quality, just this temporary home. You can access the few recipes I had, and lots more on the Cook's Illustrated website (subscription required). Thanks to all of you who visited the site while I had those few recipes up. I appreciate the many kind notes of thanks I received during that time. I still contend that C.I. could provide a better format for the recipes, especially for searching and printing. They may have a great printed magazine, but the internet and the print world aren't the same. Too bad my requests to them for such a thing were ignored. Obviously many others appreciated those same conveniences. Oh well. Thanks again to most of you. Happy cooking/eating. :)

Thank you for provoking cook's illustrated into at least putting the publication date of their recipes next to the search query.

A decent index is the least a publication should provide devoted readers, whether they subscribe to their web site or not.

Good work!

Thank you for the recipes! This was my favorite site for getting the CI recipes without having to dig through old issues and/or getting the mag dirty.

Thanks again!

From a beginning cook, I relly appreciated the recipes on your site. I wish I could have found it sooner. Thanks again.

Rats! Now I will have to go through my issues the old fashion way, one by one. I won't double pay them by subscribing to their website. I think that should come free to magazine subscribers. But what do I know!

So sad :-(

I am sure you will be equally active in the internet field in the future. I would like to have a hint of what your future endeavours are. You are certainly not an idle soul.

Thank you for your work.

I am sooo disappointed! This was definitely my go-to site for recipes! I guess I'll have to do my own typing from now one! Thanks for making these available for so long. And I agree with Wynne, why aren't these recipes available free online to magazine subscribers?!

I get the books with annual indexes as well, plus occasionally the comprehensive indexes, not to mention the DVDs, but I still prefer to look things up here and not subscribe to their site, since they have my money twice anyway. I'm online so much and sometimes I want to search on an ingredient or review a technique to compare with something I found on allrecipes.com, so I really appreciated this resource. I wish I could go WayBack in time and convince them to make their site (or at least a recipe listing like this one) free.

nooo.... that sucks the big one!! I appreciated the week I had to browse your site. Now if CI could only get their stuff together.

What??? Bummer. I'll miss these recipes big time.
