I've done it. If my children weren't as young as they are, I'd probably stop right now, since I'm not sure how much better I can get at this whole parenting thing. Sure, I'm thrilled that Cecilia can identify Manu, and that she'll (without prompting) sing a little “Go Spurs!” song. She has great manners, can say prayers all by herself, ride a tricycle like a champ, and is even getting much better about being potty trained. Those are all very important, but the icing on this cake of good parenting is what happened today.
A certain song started playing and immediately after it started she said, "That's the Beatles!" If I die tomorrow, although I'd be sad to leave my family, I can know that I at least taught her about good music. A++ and ten gold stars for me.
$400. At the time it was almost all my savings. I didn't even own my own computer when I bought it. The only computing device I had to my name at the time was a soon-to-be-dropped-and-ruined Iomega Zip Drive. Not only could this thing hold almost six and a half times as much content, but you could make mixes on CD's instead of on tapes. Now we'd be rocking – literally.
