I know you are but what am I...

I find the artwork of Dave Perillo to be just my style. It was this print for PeeWee's Big Adventure that really pulled me in. Apparently it's on sale in the basement of the Alamo. #

The Wind in the Willows

Possibly due to my recent thoughts being filled with how to use that blasted new typeface Phaeton, and its older feel... or maybe it's because these illustrations are so spot on and perfectly fitting such a classic book. Either way, they deserve an appreciative review once more. (or see the full flickr set#

2009.06.01 ‘Up,’ Inside and Out - Interactive Feature - NYTimes.com

We went and saw this movie today and thought it was fabulous. I really enjoy Pixar's films, and this was obviously no exception. I enjoy how well they document their development, just like in this piece about four of the characters. #

Lou Romano: Art of UP

The last time I really got into a film was for The Incredibles, and it was mainly due to the stuff like you see on this page... particularly the Color Script Act I section. Be sure to click on the pictures to get a better look. Fabulous. #

Sigrid Martinez - Animalphabet

I really like this alphabet print, and think the illustration style is even better. Lots of fun! (though I suppose it could be difficult for kids, since the letters aren't perfectly aligned and the names are written in cursive) #

2009.05.05 Asbury & Asbury: Desperately seeking Hanna

Great illustrations and an enviable style. Best of luck to them in finding out more info about the artist (which is actually the point of the entry). I just liked the illustrations. #

2009.01.26 Popular Science - Google Book Search

Although not Saturday Evening Post covers (I loved Norman Rockwell), this set of Popular Science covers is nearly as classic. What a great showcase of art and talent, representing a vital part of our history. #

2009.01.26 Disney Christmas Cards

A great collection of vintage Disney Christmas Cards. Too bad this has probably stopped (and also too bad that Disney no longer has the empire of awesome characters to draw upon). #

2008.10.03 Typies: Vector drawing mistakes

Thing I wish I would have known earlier, though most of them I've figured out for myself. Very slick. #

2008.10.03 Typies: Vector drawing

I'll be sure to mark this one for reference to people in the future. Sure helps explain that wonderful tool that originally comes across so weird. #
